Recently I
passed my final exam completing the first stage of becoming a chartered
accountant. Obviously this meant we had to celebrate, and some ‘well done me’
prezzies were in order. My mum got me some lovely Yankee Candle goodies, and me
and Rob decided we would get the train to Liverpool for a bit of shopping, a
nice Italian and some drinks. I don’t think he realised quite how much shopping
that would consist of, when he suggested it, but we managed to last the whole
day and didn’t end up on separate trains home. I got two jumpers from Primark,
lots of Christmas decoration, too many Lush Christmas bath bombs and also a
couple of Beauty goodies that I thought I would share with you.
Mac Lipstick – A45 Brave
So first off
I have to start with my new Mac Lipstick, I went on the hunt for a shade to add
on to my Christmas list so that Santa knew just which ones I wanted – this might
sound crazy, but with a birthday and Christmas in December, I have a whole 12
months to lust after things, so my list is already pretty chunky by the time
October starts. Once I’d chosen which shade I wanted to receive in 3 months
time, I obviously took it to the till, because I am a weak willed woman and I
just had to have it, so Rob ended up buying it as a well done present! Brave is
part of the Satin finish range, it’s a nude pink/brown. It’s a very natural and
wearable shade which is exactly what I wanted, I wanted a lipstick that I could
wear with any outfit for any occasion and this is it. I buy countless lipsticks
that I hardly ever wear and I wanted one that I could pop in my handbag and
wear it to death. Super happy with it, and it’s also left a space for another
lippy on my Christmas list.
Tanya Burr Lipgloss – Lunch Date
I hadn’t
tried any Tanya Burr’s products, which is absolutely ridiculous, I have seen
her talk about these lipglosses so much, that the first chance I could get to
go to Superdrug, I picked one up. When I got home, I realised that this is
virtually the same colour as my Mac Lipstick, a little more nude and a little
less brown, but essentially the same. It smells gorgeous but I can’t put my
finger on what the scent is - if one of you know, please put me out of my
misery and tell me in the comments. It isn’t too sticky and is a really
wearable colour as it’s super natural and really glossy. I love it!
Tanya Burr Nail Varnish – Duvet Day
I haven’t
tried this yet but the colour is gorgeous, it’s like a pastel grey/blue. It’s
so lovely and not like any other nail varnish I have so I am really excited to
give it a try. The brush seems really nice and a dense which is good, and the
formula seems great. I love the packaging, I think it looks really classy but
for some reason you can’t undo the lid, I have to pull the gold cap off and
then undo the black lid underneath, which I think is a little disappointing,
but for the price you can’t really complain.
Garnier Ultra Lift Eye Cream
I am so lazy
when it comes to eye cream, I never ever bothered, I always just used my normal
moisturiser and never took any extra care when it came to my eyes. Recently I’ve
started to notice fine lines appearing under my eyes, they aren’t really
noticeable until I put makeup on and then the makeup seems to sit in the
creases, so it is definitely time to take action. I took part in the Garnier
challenge for 14 days and it started to make a difference, so I thought I would
purchase the eye cream, it feels so soft and nice on my skin, now I just need to
remember to add it in to my routine!
Have you tried any of these products,
what did you think of them?
What eye cream recommendations do you
have?
Congrats on passing your exam! This was a well deserved shopping spree:) The Tanya Burr looks like a really pretty neutral shade.
