Harvey Nichols Glossbox

As you all know, I am a very big beauty box fan. And my beauty box of choice is Glossybox. I absolutely love surprises, little surprises, big surprises. Love them all. And a beauty box is like buying yourself a lovely surprise every month! So naturally when I saw the advert for the limited edition Harvey Nichols Glossybox, I just had to have it.

Normally Glossybox is £10 a month plus p+p, but this one was £30. This was the first limited edition box that I've received so I didn't really know what to expect.
Here’s what I got!

Laura Mercier Foundation Primer
Retails at £29 for 50ml. It is colourless once applied and has a really fresh scent. It applies super easily and dries into skin almost instantly leaving a none greasy/oily finish to apply your make up to. And I have to be honest, this is the best primer I have ever used. It really works and keeps make up on for hours. I've been wearing this on nights out, even after dancing round clubs for hours this primer keeps a tight grip on your make up. Definitely worth a buy!

Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream
Retails at a whopping £135 for 100ml. Now this is an anti-ageing cream. Now being 23 there aren't any signs of ageing on my skin, however I do know that it's never too early to start trying to slow down my skins ageing process, whenever there is an anti-ageing option I will go for it, however I never go out of my way to buy anti-ageing products. I can't really comment on whether or not it has improved the elasticity of my skin, I only received a 15ml bottle and my skin doesn't suffer from inelasticity anyway, but as a moisturiser it applies really well and doesn't feel too oily on your skin, it smells nice and does definitely hydrate your skin. Will I be buying it when this one runs out? Probably not, due to the expensive price tag.

Dermalogica Overnight Repair Serum
Retails for £57.50 for 15ml. Now this is basically an oil, so if you have oily skin then avoid. And can only be worn at night, definitely not a day time cream. You use 4 - 6 drops and massage it into your face. It also fights aging. This leaves skin feeling and looking lovely, definitely adds the sparkle back into your skin. It looks and feels amazing, great for a late night DIY facial. In terms of just a moisturiser and not an anti-aging product, I would definitely be buying this over the Elemis cream. Worth a buy if you suffer from dry skin!

Rodial Bee Venom Moisturiser
Retails at £150 for 50ml. This is a lovely moisturiser but definitely feels a little waxy, I would say this is more of a night cream than a day cream, however neither is mentioned on the product. It leaves skins looking really soft and you can definitely feel the benefit on your skin when you wake up. It smells a little bit honeyish which is lovely! However it is a little pricey.

Benefit Cosmetics They're Real Mascara
Retails at £19.50. I absolutely love it! For the very select few that haven't already tried this it has a stiff brush, I want to describe it as a rubber type brush, where the bristles are stiff and barely bend. That is my favourite type of brush. What I really love is that the bristles continues on to the tip of the brush, so that you can get to each and every lash! Amazing. Absolutely in love!

La Coupe Coconut and Macadamia Oil
Retails at £3.50 for 40g. This is a deep conditioner, that you use on damp hair then wash out. I received just one sachet, it was amazing. It left my hair feeling so silky, but it wasn't too heavy, it left hair feeling as light as ever and looked really voluminous. And obviously as you can guess from the ingredients smelt absolutely fantastic. Even my boyfriend said my hair looked nice, so it must have made a very noticeable difference. Will definitely be buying again!

OPI Nail Lacquer - Viking In A Vinter Vonderland
Retails at £12. This nail varnish applies really well (like all OPI) but takes quite a while to dry. After two coats it is a deep, wintery purple. Absolutely gorgeous for this time of year, love it! It doesn’t chip easily and stays very glossy.

NARS Satin Lip Pencil
Retails at £18. Applies really easily, great to carry in your makeup bag and use on the go. It is quite nourishing and doesn't dry your lips out. The colour is like a matte light plum, it lovely and a great day time colour - not too loud. Great for all shades as it’s quite subtle.

Macadamia Natural Oil Healing Oil Treatment
Retails at £21.95 for 125ml. This is a therapeutic oil that you work into your hair before styling. After washing my hair, I towel dry it and rub a few drops into the ends of my hair. It smells fantastic and leaves hair feeling soft and takes out any unwanted frizz. It keeps your hair healthy, and therefore makes it grow! Bonus!

SHOW Beauty Divine Thickening Mist
Now this is my favourite product in this Glossybox. It retails at £35 for 150ml but is by far the best thickening spray I've ever used. I have very long hair, so because of this, the weight of my hair drags it down and takes out any volume that I had when styling. The bottle looks so elegant, all my friends have asked me what it is when they’ve spotted it on my dressing table. And it makes your hair look fantastic. I spray it onto the roots of my towel dried hair and dry my hair while leaning forward. It feels very sticky when you apply but that soon disappears when you dry your hair, and it leaves hair feeling soft. It smells a lot like the old spray on fake tans, which reminds me of my mum’s Christmas parties when I was younger!

Harvey Nichols Mini Scented Candle
Retail at £30 for set of 4. This set of four comprises of 4 scents, these are called; dining, party, bathing and sleeping. It looks very plain, but that just means that it will suit every home. I was hoping for bathing or sleeping, a kind of soothing calming scent, instead I got dining. So I was a little disappointed originally. The candle lasts for ages, which is great, and the glass case doesn’t get too hot, so you can easily move it around once lit. The smell is quite indescribable, it smells nice and quite subtle. It isn’t floral, or fruity, or nutty, or woody. It is really hard to describe. On the website it says that it has notes of rosemary, basil and mandarin. I like the idea of having candles for dining and would be a great touch at a dinner party! (They also sell the candles individually and at different sizes)
