April has
been a difficult month for me, I have been so poorly this month and feel like I
have spent the whole month either lay in bed or at the doctors. I had an
amazing girls night out for my best friend’s birthday and threw a baby shower
for another of my best friend’s birthday, I’ve done a couple of nice things but
mainly just lots of antibiotics and Harry Potter. But the times when I have dragged
myself out of bed, these are the products that I have been reaching for.

January 16 Favourites
Welcome to
the first monthly favourites of the year, I hope you all had a great January
even though it has flown by. I love January, for me it is a month that
symbolises new beginnings, a step towards making yourself the you that you want
to become. This month for me has been focused on work, studying and healthy
eating. I started back on my old healthy eating and exercise regime, over the
past 4 weeks I have lost a whopping 11 pound and 3 inches from my waist and 1.5
inches from my hips, so this month has consisted of a lot of random favourites
including recipes, foods and lifestyle bits but for now here are my January
beauty faves!

2015 Makeup Favourites
2015 was a
great year of makeup for me, I’ve done a bit more experimenting this year when
it comes to makeup and I have tried a lot of new things. This year I have
broken my favourites down into categories because it was getting too difficult
to just pick a handful of products. It was quite hard to think back to the
start of 2015, but I have just tried to pick things that I have been constantly
picking up through the year. So I hope you enjoy!

Well Done Shopping Trip
Recently I
passed my final exam completing the first stage of becoming a chartered
accountant. Obviously this meant we had to celebrate, and some ‘well done me’
prezzies were in order. My mum got me some lovely Yankee Candle goodies, and me
and Rob decided we would get the train to Liverpool for a bit of shopping, a
nice Italian and some drinks. I don’t think he realised quite how much shopping
that would consist of, when he suggested it, but we managed to last the whole
day and didn’t end up on separate trains home. I got two jumpers from Primark,
lots of Christmas decoration, too many Lush Christmas bath bombs and also a
couple of Beauty goodies that I thought I would share with you.

September 15 Favourites
It’s that
monthly favourites time again! Another month over and another month closer to
Christmas (sorry!!), after saying goodbye to September we can now welcome
October, and undoubtedly welcome Autumn, woooo! (cue the countless Autumnal blog
posts). September was a stressful month for me, filled with revision, exams,
car break downs, buying a new car, having my new car hit by a runaway driver,
hospital visits and finishing off the month with the all clear from my doctors
and passing my exams! But even after ending on a high my usual makeup and skin
care routine took a bit of a hit, this month my skin has been awful so there are
a couple of skin care favourites and as I have worn hardly any makeup due to
hibernating to study most of the month, there are only a couple of faves for
when I have reached for the war paint!

August '15 Favourites
I know
everyone seems to be moaning about waving goodbye to Summer but I am definitely
welcoming September with open arms. Bring on the berry lips, fluffy scarves and
comfy shoe boots! Throughout August I spent a weekend away in York in a log
cabin on a stunning fishing lake, attended my Friend’s gorgeous wedding,
attended one of my best friend’s little boys first birthday and also had a big
night out in Manchester for one of my best friend’s 23rd birthday.
So I’ve used a lot of different products this month, but here are a few
products that I have kept picking up again and again all throughout August!

Superdrug Haul August
I’ve recently been to Superdrug and couldn’t help but to
pick up a few things. The Superdrug that I visited was only a small one and unfortunately
there wasn’t a huge range of things, and shockingly there was no Revolution!!
But here’s what I picked up.

Revolution Lip Gloss
A little while ago I was majorly dropping hints to my boyfriend to skip down to superdrug and get me some revolution eye shadow palettes. One evening I came home from work to find a lovely little lip set. It had 3 very bright chunky lip pencils and this clear gloss.
I am a gloss lover, I never keep a matte lipstick, matte for very long, I am gloss obsessed. No matter how much I try to leave my lipstick alone, the drying out and peeling dread comes over me and I reach for a gloss! This gloss is perfect, it's not a plumper or pucker or anything too uncomfortable and fancy, it's just a plain everyday gloss. Yes, I know glosses can be heavy and sticky and irritating. But this is light and not at all sticky, which is great for blustery days and the occasional smooch.

Queen Bee Vaseline
Queen Bee
I am a BIG Vaseline fan. A really really big Vaseline
fan. For as long as I can remember, I have loved it. It’s such a great product
especially now that we are in the winter months and we are all trying to keep
chapped lips at bay. I began to get a little bit obsessed with getting all of
the new limited edition lip petroleum jelly tins to complete my collection. I
have original, aloe vera, rosy lips, cocoa butter, sun protection (the yellow
one that is a nightmare to hunt down) and another limited edition ‘paint the
town’ which is a red jelly. It’s gorgeous and is really pigmented, it looks
great on and like all the others makes your lips super soft. I also have the
cocoa butter moisturiser – it smells divine! It keeps skin so soft but isn’t
greasy like some lotions. Perfect for moisturising before fake tanning as it
soaks in really quickly and due to it not being too oily, it stops tan from
streaking.
So when I saw the new limited edition Queen Bee tin, I
started my mission to find it. After 2 weeks, many trips to different Boots and
Superdrug stores around my home town and scrolling through the internet, I
finally got my hands on it (well technically two, due to it being limited
edition I talked myself into getting two)
It’s lovely, it works just like all of the others, keeps
your lips lovely and soft and has a gorgeous smell of honey! The tin looks
really cool and every time I get it out of my bag – people always ask what it
is. It retails at £3.99 at Boots.
When collecting all of my Vaselines together I started to
find them all over the place – I had one in my desk at work, handbag, makeup
bag, next to my bed and dotted around my rooms and in many clutch bags from nights
out partying. Vaseline is great to carry with you on the go to keep your lips
soft but I use it for so many things. I put some on my eye lashes at night to
keep lashes soft and healthy. I use it on my cuticles to keep them soft and
stop them from snagging. I apply it to my lips straight after applying my
foundation to get rid of any foundation-lip. I use it on my elbows and knees
before fake tanning. I use it on my nose during flu season to prevent chapping
on my nose from blowing it all of the time. It’s so versatile and I don’t know
a single person that doesn’t love Vaseline.
If you haven’t already, go out and grab yourself a Queen
Bee tin – it smells good enough to eat.
Do you have any limited edition Vaselines that I haven’t
got? Which is your favourite?
Do you have any weird collection habits?

Avon Colour Trend Kiss n Go Lipstick

Avon Colour Trend Kiss n Go Lipstick
I
Love Avon! I used to be an Avon representative a couple of years ago when I was
at college, to fund my partying lifestyle along with my part-time job. During
that time I came to realise how much of a good brand Avon is, even though it is
reasonably priced. I have found that high price doesn’t always mean high
quality!
So
I ordered myself 3 Color Trend Kiss n Go lipsticks. They are priced at £3.75,
buy one get two free. So yes – I got three lipsticks for £3.75. I already know
what you are thinking – that they are going to be totally awful and I shouldn’t
have wasted my time, but bare with me guys! The packaging doesn’t look amazing,
with the plain white tube, however it has a transparent band around the tube so
you can see the colour of your lipstick without opening which I did think was
really cool.
Lucky Kiss
Let’s
start with my favourite in colour ‘Lucky Kiss’. I was desperate to find myself
a darker red lipstick for Autumn as I usually stick with bright red or pinks. I
didn’t want to take too much of a risk and go for a purple so I went for this
darker red. The stick itself looks much more purple/brown than dark red but
when it goes on your lip it looks totally different and is really pigmented. It
is a gorgeous colour exactly the warm toned red/purple lipstick I was searching
for. It has a slight shimmer in which makes your lips look extra warm. I am
quite an olive toned brunette, and if you’re the same then I would definitely recommend
this colour. It applied very easy and smells gorgeous. Now as you’d probably
guessed by the price, the lipstick doesn’t stay on very well, it fades quite
easy so make sure you take it with you on the go to touch up whenever needed
The next colour I bought was in colour ‘Amethyst’, this is a much pinkier colour. I picked it because I knew it would be a safe bet, knowing that Lucky Kiss was a bit of a risk and I might have hated it when it arrived. Amethyst isn’t very pigmented, nor does it particularly have a shade. It’s very similar to the colour of my natural lip. I have been wearing the lipstick to work quite a lot, as it’s nice and subtle but has a lot of shimmer in it, kind of gives the look of having a clear lipgloss on without your lips looking wet and sticky. However, like Lucky Kiss, it fades very easily and needs constant reapplying, but also smells great and applied very easily.
Pink Holiday
The
third colour I chose was ‘Pink Holiday’, when it arrived I was very excited
about it, the stick itself looks like a very bright pink. However it isn’t very
pigmented so you have to apply ALOT to make your lips pop like the stick
itself. This colour is a lot less shimmery than the other two colours. It is a
lovely shade, but it isn’t quite as bold as you would think by looking at the
stick. It applies really easily and leaves your lips feeling very soft! However
like the other two colours, it needs touching up ALOT!
Were
they worth the £3.75 for all three? Definitely! I absolutely loved Lucky Kiss,
and have been wearing it a lot even if it does need reapplying. It’s perfect
for Autumn and exactly the colour I’ve been searching for. Amethyst is perfect
for during the day, and has a really shimmery look. And Pink Holiday is a
lovely colour and goes really well with a smokey eye or a bold eye shadow. They
are all easy to apply and smell great, leaving your lips feeling very soft!
